THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA is the third largest country in the world next to Russia and Canada. The majority of the population is the Han ethnic group, accounting for about 92 percent of the nation’s total population. It is a country of various religions – Buddhism, Taoism, islam, Catholicism, and Christianity have all developed in China.

China has a recorded history of over 5,000 years that made it one of the world’s most ancient civilizations, and likewise have created splendid historical sites and remains. The People’s Republic of China was founded on October 1, 1949. This started tremendous changes, perfectly blending the ancient and modern China. Beijing is the capital of the People’s Republic of China. It is also the political, cultural, and international exchange center of the country. Mandarin is the official language in China today.
