Day 8 (Wed) – Chengdu-Wolong/Bifengxia-Chengdu

Full day visit to the Giant Panda Natural Reserve and People’s Park

The day will be devoted to Bifengxia Panda Reserve Base, as the Wolong Panda Reserve Base was destroyed in Wenchuan Earthquake in 2008, the Pandas were immigrated here, hence forming this world’s largest panda reserve base with the most advanced equipments. There are over 20 research laboratories and feeding centers in the base, including Panda Breeding Spots, Panda Kindergarten, Panda Hospital and the Research Centers. Here, you could appreciate the adorable pandas playing, eating bamboos and climbing trees in real life or even hold one if interested (holding fee is not included). Late in the afternoon, we will transfer you back to Chengdu and visit the People’s Park.

Drive to Chongqing and visit the Dazu Grottoes en route, tourist Center of the Dazu Stone Sculptures -  the tourist center in Dazu, Tongnan, Tongliang, and Bishan counties offer the visitors a chance to view the art of stone sculptures from the Tang (618-907) to the Song Dynasty.  76 caves in Dazu house more than 60,000 statues and more than 100,000 Chinese characters carved on the stone walls, including those on the Northern and Baoding mountains, which are the largest in scale, the richest in content, the best-preserved and the most exquisitely carved. Start our sail for a distance of 430 miles in all the great gorges and deep mountain valleys. Shore excursion in the afternoon to the ghost city of Fengdu, where the temples reveal ancient Chinese religion and legends with their imaged construction and the ghost stature for people lucky praying.

Day 9 (Thu) – Yangtze River Cruise

Sailing into the Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, and the river changes to wildly stirring, riffle water along with swirling bubbles. The mossy cliffs are hemmed by the banging pathways under the Twelve Peaks. When the boat gets to the famed Shennong Steam, we change to small boat and sail deep into the fabled Lesser Three Gorges for 3 hours exploration. When we get to the upstream, we change to small sampans pulling up by man trackers on bubbled water to ethnic villages, they celebrate our visiting by singing local songs along the sampan trip while we enjoy the most scenic of all gorges for an excursion.  Then we return to our boat and continue sail into the Xiling Gorge.

Day 1 (Wed) – Arrive Beijing

Upon arrival Beijing, the capital of China, our friendly guide will meet you and transfer you to the Beijing International Hotel.

 

Day 2 (Thu) – Beijing

Full day visit to the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City of Supreme Harmony, in the afternoon take Hutong tour by rickshaw with a home visit, Chinese traditional courtyards dating from Ming Dynasty 600 years.

Day 3 (Fri) – Beijing

Full day excursion to the Badaling Great Wall (2 hours visit at least), Sacred Way of Ming Tombs, Jade stone workshop visit en route and a photo stop at the Olympic sites of Bird Nest & Water Cube.

Day 4 (Sat) – Beijing

Day 5 (Sun) – Beijing/Xian

Take a morning flight to Xian, the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, its long standing history and colorful culture have left over numerous brilliant historical sites and precious cultural relics. Afternoon city tour includes a visit to the Provincial Museum and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Check into Jian Guo Hotel Xian tonight.

Day 6 (Mon) – Xian

Full day sightseeing includes the Excavations of Terra-Cotta Warriors & Bronze Chariots, one of the greatest archeological finds of the century, also visit the Ceramics and Pottery Center. Tonight, taste Dumpling Dinner and enjoy the Tang Dynasty Music Show.

Day 7 (Tue) – Xian/Guilin

Fly to Guilin , the most scenic city in China, no scenery in the world could be ranked in parallel with Guilin for its magnificent natural landscape. After Lunch, visit the Reed Flute Cave. Check into Guilin Park Hotel.

Day 8 (Wed) – Guilin/Yangshuo

Embark on a gorgeous cruise on the Li River. Experience the magical beauty of limestone formations and farmland commonly seen in Chinese landscape paintings.  Upon arrival in Yangshuo, check into the New Century Hotel. Take an optional tour of Impression of Ms. Liu Sanjie ($85 per person).

Day 9 (Thu)  Yangshuo

Free day to explore in Yangshuo, you can rent a bicycle or take a sampan further down along the Li River on your own.

Day 10  (Fri) – Yangshuo/Guilin/Chongqing/Cruise

Drive to Guilin Airport and fly to Chongqing, the most hilly city in China, visit the Panda Zoo upon arrival, enjoy a local flavored hotpot dinner before embarkation of the MV. President No. 8 Cruise ship (deluxe 5 star cruise, standard cabin with private balcony) before 8 p.m. and set sailing at mid-night. Day 11 (Sat) – Yangtze River Cruise

Start our sail for a distance of 430 miles in all the great gorges and deep mountain valleys. Shore excursion in the afternoon to the ghost city of Fengdu, where the temples reveal ancient Chinese religion and legends with their imaged construction and the ghost stature for people lucky praying.

Day 12 (Sun) – Yangtze River Cruise

Sailing into the Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, and the river changes to wildly stirring, riffle water along with swirling bubbles. The mossy cliffs are hemmed by the banging pathways under the Twelve Peaks. When the boat gets to the famed Shennong Steam, we change to small boat and sail deep into the fabled Lesser Three Gorges for 3 hours exploration. When we get to the upstream, we change to small sampans pulling up by man trackers on bubbled water to ethnic villages, they celebrate our visiting by singing local songs along the sampan trip while we enjoy the most scenic of all gorges for an excursion.  Then we return to our boat and continue sail into the Xiling Gorge.

Day 13 (Mon) – Yangtze River Cruise/Yichang/Shanghai

Morning excursion to the Three Gorges Dam site and pass through the 5 ship locks with lowering our boat down 412 feet, before we end our cruise at Yichang. Transfer to airport and fly to Shanghai.  Stay at the Ocean Hotel Shanghai

Day 14 (Tue) – Shanghai

This morning visit the classical Yu Garden. After lunch, visit the Shanghai Museum. The attractions include enormous and the finest stone sculptures, bronze-ware, porcelain, calligraphic works, Chinese paintings and ancient furniture. Also visit Tianzifang Artist District and the Bund area (waterfront) – the window of Shanghai history and modern changes.  After the farewell dinner, enjoy the famous Shanghai Acrobatic Show tonight.

Day 8 (Wed) –Train Dunhuang Liuyuan-Turpan

Today you visit the world heritage site – Mogao Grottoes, it is the world’s most important site of ancient Buddhist Culture. The grottoes preserve nearly a thousand years of Buddhist cave-temple architecture, clay sculpture, mural paintings, and manuscripts, dating from the 5th to 14th centuries. Also visit Sounding Dune and the Crescent Lake.

 

After dinner transfer to Liuyuan station for overnight train to Turpan (1/4 soft berth)

Day 9 (Thu) – Turpan

Arrive Turpan early in the morning, an oasis surrounded by desert and dry mountains; it is famous throughout China for its large, sweet grapes and gourds. Upon arrival, our guide will meet and transfer you to Huozhou Hotel for breakfast. After freshening up at the hotel, visit the Grape valley, the Karez Irrigation System and Emin Minaret.

Day 10 (Fri)  Turpan – Urumqi

Visit to the Jiaohe Ancient Ruins and Flaming Mountain. Then drive to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Autonomous Region, after lunch, visit to the Xinjiang Autonomous Region Museum. Stay at the Mirage Hotel tonight

Day 11 (Sat) Urumqi/Kashgar

Fly to Kashgar and visit the Kashgari Tomb & Id Kah Mosque.

Day 12 (Sun) Kashgar-Urumqi
