Day 3 • SHANGHAI |
|
Enjoy Shanghai's famous shopping experience on Nanjing or Huai Hai
Road; visit the Shanghai Museum exhibiting remarkable dynastic
cultural artifacts; Yu Garden, a carpet factory, the fabled
European-styled Bund and a performance at the Children's Palace.

Day 4 • SHANGHAI to YICHANG* |
|
Morning at leisure in Shanghai. Later fly to Yichang where you
board your cruise ship to begin a memorable cruise upstream.

motorcoach on to Yichang. |

Day 5 • YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: SAN DOU PING to XILING GORGE |
|
Stop at San Dou Ping to see the amazing progress at the Three
Gorges Dam, the largest hydroelectric project in the world. Sail
through the dramatic Three Gorges ship lock before continuing
through Xiling Gorge, longest of the famed Three Gorges.

Day 6 • YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE: WU GORGE/DANING RIVER SMALL GORGES or
SHENNONG STREAM/ QUTANG GORGE |
|
This morning, marvel at Wu Gorge’s deep zigzagging valley. At
Wushan, a cruiser takes you for an excursion up the Daning River’s
renowned Small Gorges–Dragon Gate, Misty or Emerald.
Continue by sampan to the picturesque mini-gorges of the Ma Du
River with its clear, swift running water, unusual rock formations,
and monkeys and goats along the banks. Depending on the water
level of the Yangtze River, your excursion may be on Shennong
Stream with its equally spectacular small gorges. Depart Wushan,
passing through dramatic Qutang Gorge, walled with steep mossy
cliffs that crowd the sky.

shore excursion at Shibaozhai shows its scenic 12-story wooden
pagoda.

Disembark in Chongqing.Visit the Stilwell Museum where you will see

Flying Tigers. Fly to historic Xi’an, check into your hotel.

A
memorable day of sightseeing begins as you view remnants of China’s
ancient past: the life-sized terra-cotta army, the Bronze Chariot,

Today’s sightseeing includes vast Tiananmen Square, impressive Ming
extravagance at the Forbidden City’s Imperial Palace including a

on to visit the exquisite Summer Palace, with a boat ride on its
Lake Kunming
(weather permitting).

Today tour the Great Wall, one of the most amazing feats of
mankind.Walk along the ancient ramparts, admiring the view of the
Wall winding across the mountains. Visit a cloisonné factory to

along the Sacred Way, lined with statues of warriors and mythical
beasts, to the Ming Tombs and Chang Ling Exhibition Hall. Tonight,
celebrate your memorable vacation at a Peking Duck dinner party.
