1 West Coast - Beijing
Aboard
your transpacific flight to Beijing.
Day
2 Arrive Beijing
Upon
arrival in Beijing, China's capital, you will be greeted and escorted
to the Capital Hotel (or similar).
Day
3 Beijing (AB,L,SD)
After
breakfast, visit Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the
Forbidden City, home of Chinese Emperors for more than 500 years. After
lunch, visit the Summer Palace, taking a leisure stroll while admiring
the thousands of ancient murals along the Long Corridor and a boat ride
on the Kunming Lake (weather permitting). Enjoy a fabulous welcome
banquet featuring the famous Beijing Duck in the evening.

4 Beijing (AB,L)
The
highlight today is an excursion to the Great Wall. Enjoy the dramatic
vistas and marvel at the Wall as it climbs and descends steep ridges
and narrow valleys. Continue on to visit a cloisonn factory on the way
to lunch. After lunch, visit the Ming Tombs starting with a stroll
along the Sacred Way guarded by the stone statues; then onto the Chang
Ling Exhibition Museum.

5 Beijing - Shanghai - Zhouzhuang (AB,L,D)
Transfer to the airport for flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, take an
hour couch ride to the picturesque water village of Zhouzhuang, with
small bridges over running streams, surrounded by traditional
architecture. Overnight at the Yun Hai Holiday Villa (or similar).

6 Zhouzhuang - Suzhou (AB,L,SD)
Take a
30-minute drive to Suzhou, known for its classical Chinese gardens. You
will visit the Garden of Master of Nets, and enjoy a boat ride on the
ancient Grand Canal. Then continue to Tiger Hill, a 1,000-year-old
pagoda, a symbolic landmark of Suzhou. You will also visit a silk
factory where you will see the entire process from silkworm to
beautiful silk textiles. This evening enjoy a dinner of special Suzhou
cuisine at Jin Man Lou Restaurant. Overnight at the Nanlin Hotel (or
similar).
Day
7 Suzhou - Hangzhou (AB,L,D)
After
breakfast, take a scenic drive to Hangzhou. Lunch upon arrival, then
start exploring this charming 2,000-year-old city with a boat ride on
scenic West Lake. Long famous for its beauty, there is a Chinese saying
"In heaven there is paradise and on earth there are Hangzhou and Suzhou".
Overnight at the Ramada Plaza Hangzhou Haihua (or similar).

8 Hangzhou (AB,L,D)
Today
you will visit Ling Yin Temple (Temple of Soul's Retreat) and Feilai
Peak (the Peak that Flew Here). Continue to the 1,000-year-old Six
Harmonies Pagoda, and enjoy a tea ceremony sipping Dragonwell green tea
at the Long Jing Tea Plantation.
Day
9 Hangzhou - Tunxi (AB,L,D)
Depart
Hangzhou for Tunxi. On the way, you will make visits to the Tang Yue
Archways, Bao Garden and Chengkan Village, famous for its Ming and Qing
architectures. Continue on to Tunxi and spend time walking along the
Ancient Street, a well preserved commercial street dating to the Ming
and Qing dynasties. Enjoy local cuisine for dinner. Overnight at the
Huangshan International Hotel (or similar).

10 Tunxi - Huangshan (AB,L,D)
Visit
Hongchun Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with more than 140
well-preserved ancient houses. Continue to Huangshan (Yellow Mountain)
and board the cable car for the summit. Known for its spectacular rocky
peaks, oddly shaped pines, crystal clear mountain streams and seas of
cloud, Huangshan's landscape is one of the most scenic in China. Visit
the Cloud Dispelling Pavilion, the Flying Over Rock, and other sights.
Check in to the Shilin Hotel (or similar).

11 Huangshan (AB,L,D)
Enjoy
the sun rise on Brighten Summit. Return to the hotel for breakfast,
then continue your exploration with visits to the Begin to Believe
Peak, Flower Scattering Valley, Lion Peak, etc.
Day
12 Huangshan - Shanghai (AB,L,D)
Continue exploring the beautiful scenery of Huangshan Mountain. After
lunch, relax on your coach ride back to Shanghai and check in to the
Crowne Plaza Hotel Fudan Shanghai (or similar).
Day
13 Shanghai (AB,L)
This
morning you will visit the Jade Buddha Temple, known for its
1,000-year-old Buddha carved from a single piece of jade. Stroll the
Bund, a promenade along the Huangpu River lined with European
architecture dating to the beginning of the last century. After lunch
at a riverside restaurant, you will experience Chinese culture via Tai
Chi, calligraphy and Chinese cooking.
Day
14 Shanghai (AB,L,D)
This
morning, you will visit the Shanghai Museum, China's most up-to-date
museum showcasing the country's ancient glory. In the afternoon, pay a
visit to the Children's Palace where you will enjoy musical and
cultural performances by children attending classes.
Day
15 Shanghai - West Coast (AB)
Farewell to Shanghai. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to
the USA.
