Day 1 • LOS ANGELES to BEIJING

Fly transpacific on Northwest Airlines. Cross the International Date Line.

Day 2 • ARRIVE BEIJING

Upon arrival, you are met and escorted to your selected hotel.

Day 3 • BEIJING

Today, sightsee Beijing: imposing Tiananmen Square, and then on to see Ming extravagance at the Forbidden City's treasure-filled Imperial Palace, with admission to the living quarters, museum and jewelry sections. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace with a boat ride on Lake Kunming (weather permitting).

Day 4 • BEIJING

On a daylong excursion, enjoy the thrilling experience of walking atop the awesome Great Wall. After lunch, visit a cloisonné factory. Then stroll along the statue-lined Sacred Way to the Ming Tombs and Chang Ling Exhibition Hall.

Day 5 • BEIJING

Day is free. Perhaps take an optional tour to the Tibetan Lama Temple and magnificent Temple of Heaven.

Day 6 • BEIJING

Today, you may choose to join our optional Hutong tour. You will be carried by pedicab through the Hutong's ancient narrow streets, then visit a courtyard-style family residence. Admire the panoramic view of the city from atop the Drum Tower Pagoda.

Day 7 • BEIJING to LOS ANGELES

Fly home aboard Northwest Airlines.
