Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: USA - Beijing
Fly to Beijing , ready to begin our journey through China 's major cities.
Day 2: Arrive Beijing
After greeting our Ritz Tours guide in the arrivals hall, transfer to our deluxe accommodations to rest up for our full day of sightseeing tomorrow.
Day 3: Beijing
With a history of over 3000 years, Beijing is an ancient city and home to a number of renowned cultural and historic sights. Our sightseeing today takes us to the magnificent Forbidden City, once an imperial residence and off-limits to the public, followed by a visit to the world-famous Tiananmen Square . Complete our city tour with a visit to the stunning Summer Palace , followed by picture stops at the 2008 Olympic Bird's Nest and Water Cube. During the evening, enjoy a sumptuous Peking Duck Banquet Dinner.

Day 4: Beijing
Like a giant dragon snaking its way 4000 miles across China 's mountainous landscapes, the Great Wall is the longest man-made structure in the world. Climbing its ancient steps, we can see just why it is considered one of the great wonders of the world. Our next stop is the Sacred Way , which leads us to explore the imperial mausoleums of 13 Ming emperors.

Day 5: Beijing
Explore the wonders of the city on your own or take an optional rickshaw tour of the hutongs (narrow lanes or alleyways) of Old Beijing. Ornate brick designs, wooden carvings and street vendors create snapshots of a time long ago. Arrive at a traditional siheyuan courtyard residence, where a local family treats you to a lunch of local delights.

Day 6: Beijing - Xian
Before flying to historic Xian, we visit the Temple of Heaven , a 1677-square mile complex constructed in 1420 for emperors' annual ceremonies of prayer of good harvest. Upon arrival in Xian, we are transferred to our hotel for dinner.

Day 7: Xian
Regarded as one of the four ancient capitals of the world, Xian boasts a myriad of historical treasures and sites. Today we visit one of China 's supreme treasures, the Terra-Cotta Warriors. Considered one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century, the life-size soldiers stand in rank guarding the tomb of Emperor Qin Shih Huang. After touring the underground pits, we enjoy an authentic noodle-making demonstration during lunch. Continue on to visit the Ming Dynasty City Wall and Big Wild Goose Pagoda, then return to the city for an Imperial Dumpling Banquet dinner followed by a colorful Tang Dynasty Show.

Day 8 :Xian �C Shanghai
Board a flight to Shanghai , a booming metropolis situated on an estuary of the Yangtze River . Once known as the " Pearl of the Orient," Shanghai is China 's largest economic center and the world's most populous city. Today we embark on a city tour beginning with the renowned 16th-century classical garden, Yu Garden. Drive through the shopper's paradise, Nanjing Road , and complete the day with a stroll along the Bund, a waterfront boulevard which affords dazzling panoramas of Shanghai 's skyline.

Day 9: Shanghai
This morning we visit the spectacular Shanghai Museum , the world's finest showcase of ancient Chinese art and antiquities. Browse some of the 120,000 pieces of ancient Chinese bronze works, jades and paintings, then spend the rest of the afternoon free to explore Shanghai on our own. In the evening we enjoy dinner followed by a dynamic Chinese Acrobatics Show.

Day 10: Shanghai - USA
Our tour ends as we check out of the hotel, leaving with fond memories of our mesmerizing China vacation, or add on to our experience with an optional extension to Hong Kong .
