Day 3: Beijing

With a history of over 3000 years, Beijing is an ancient city and home to a number of renowned cultural and historic sights. Our sightseeing today takes us to the magnificent Forbidden City, once an imperial residence and off-limits to the public, followed by a visit to the world-famous Tiananmen Square . During the evening, enjoy a sumptuous Peking Duck Banquet Dinner.

Day 4: Beijing

Like a giant dragon snaking its way 4000 miles across China 's mountainous landscapes, the Great Wall is the longest man-made structure in the world. Climbing its ancient steps, we can see just why it is considered one of the great wonders of the world. Our next stop is the Sacred Way , which leads us to explore the imperial mausoleums of 13 Ming emperors.

*Meals: American Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner at hotel

Day 5: Beijing

Explore the wonders of the city on your own or take an optional rickshaw tour of the hutongs (narrow lanes or alleyways) of Old Beijing. Ornate brick designs, wooden carvings and street vendors create snapshots of a time long ago. Arrive at a traditional siheyuan courtyard residence, where a local family treats you to a lunch of local delights.

*Meal: American Breakfast

Day 6: Beijing - Xian

Before flying to historic Xian, we visit the Temple of Heaven , a 1677-square mile complex constructed in 1420 for emperors' annual ceremonies of prayer of good harvest. Upon arrival in Xian, we are transferred to our hotel for dinner.

*Meals: American Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner at hotel

Day 7: Xian

Xian is considered one of the four ancient capitals of the world and boasts an abundance of historical relics and sites, earning it the title of a living ˇ°Natural History Museum.ˇ± The first stop on our city tour is the life-sized army of Terra Cotta Warriors, serendipitously discovered by a farmer over 30 years ago. After admiring the realistic soldiers, horses, and chariots, we venture to Xian's City Wall. Continue on to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and return to the city for an Imperial Dumpling Banquet for dinner, followed by a colorful Tang Dynasty Show.

*Meals: American Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner Show

Day 8 :Xian - Shanghai

Fly to cosmopolitan Shanghai , a ˇ°bright pearlˇ± at the mouth of the Yangtze River and China 's largest economic center.
