Itinerary:
Day 1: USA - Beijing
Depart to Beijing , excited to begin our cultural exploration of China 's treasures.
Day 2: Arrive Beijing
Our Ritz Tours guide greets us in the arrivals hall and we transfer to our deluxe accommodations for a good night's rest.
Day 3: Beijing
Though it has undergone an urban renewal in recent years, Beijing still maintains its imperial splendor, offering visitors numerous historical and cultural treasures. We begin our city tour with a walk through the famed Tiananmen Square, followed by a visit to the Forbidden City, constructed in the 15th century as a replica of the Purple Palace in Heaven. Next, visit the scenic Summer Palace , an imperial retreat complete with elaborate pagodas and bridges overlooking the serene Kunming Lake . Complete our tour with photo stops at 2008 Olympic sites Bird's Nest and Water Cube. This evening, enjoy a local specialty ¨C a Peking Duck Banquet.

Day 4: Beijing
This morning, we journey to the famed Great Wall, a sprawling defense system which snakes 4000 miles across China 's northern borders. Spend some time climbing the centuries-old pathway and admire the sprawling landscapes, then continue on to the Sacred Way , a ¡°divine road¡± to the imperial Ming Mausoleums situated at the foot of the picturesque Tianshou Mountains .

Day 5: Beijing - Xian
Before flying to Xian, we visit the Temple of Heaven , built in 1420 for the emperor's annual pilgrimages of prayer to the heavens. Constructed to be three times larger than the Forbidden City , it is considered a supreme achievement of traditional Chinese architecture.

Day 6: Xian
In modern times, the city's claim to fame has been the 6,000 life-size Terra Cotta Warriors commissioned by China 's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, to enforce his rule in the afterlife. During lunch, enjoy an authentic noodle-making demonstration, then continue on to survey the massive City Wall and Big Wild Goose Pagoda, one of the most famous and well-preserved Buddhist temples in China. Top off the evening with an Imperial Dumpling Banquet followed by a Tang Dynasty Performance.

Day 7: Xian - Guilin
Board a southbound flight to the lush city of Guilin , renowned for its picturesque landscape, said to be ¡°Unmatched in Heaven¡±. We begin exploring this ancient city with a visit to Reed Flute Cave , where unique natural rock formations illuminated in colored lighting create an underground paradise befitting of an emperor. Venture on to Elephant Trunk Hill, a long-standing symbol of Guilin that once appeared on Chinese currency notes.

Day 8: Guilin
Witness the untouched natural beauty of Guilin as we cruise down the emerald waters of the Li River. A dazzling backdrop of mist-shrouded hills, steep cliffs, and leisurely boats meandering by transports us to a place far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. Upon arrival in Yangshuo, we disembark and board our motorcoach back to Guilin .

Day 9: Guilin - Shanghai
Fly to Shanghai , a sprawling metropolis situated on an estuary of the Yangtze River . Today we begin our exploration with a visit to Yu Garden, followed by a walk through the Bund, a famous tree-lined boulevard alongside the Huangpu River . Enjoy the panoramic views of Shanghai 's skyline and complete our tour with a drive through famous shopping district, Nanjing Road .

Day 10: Shanghai
This morning, visit the esteemed Shanghai Museum , which houses an impressive 120,000 precious works of ancient Chinese art. Spend the afternoon venturing into the city or relax at the hotel. In the evening, enjoy an exciting Chinese Acrobatics Performance following dinner.

Day 11: Shanghai
Spend the day free at leisure or take an optional excursion to the charming water village of Suzhou . Our first stop is the Humble Administrator's Garden, the largest and most renowned of Suzhou 's classical gardens. Continue on to take a cruise of the 2000 - year
old Grand Canal . The longest man-made waterway in the world, this ancient wonder offers stunning panoramic views of the surrounding scenery in Suzhou . Complete our tour of Suzhou with a visit to a silk factory to learn more about this exquisite fabric's history and see how it's made.

Day 12: Shanghai
