Day 1 Arrive Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, China's capital, you will be escorted to check into a featured Five-Star Hotel.
Day 2 Beijing
This morning, see the vast Tiananmen Square and the Ming Dynasty Imperial palace in the Forbidden City, including the jewelry section.After lunch, tour Beijing's old Hutong (narrow lanes) area by old-fashioned pedicab.Climb up the DrumTower; see a traditional drum performance.Visit a local family living in a courtyard-style home known a Siheyuans.Stop ata Hutong kindergarten (if school is open) and visit a vegetable market.Tonight, attend a Beijing Duck welcome dinner party with a glass of wine.

Day 3 Beijing
Experience a highlight of your trip to China as you walk along the ramparts of the ancient Great Wall.Later, stroll along the statue-lined Sacred Way to the Ming Tombs and Chang Ling Exhibition Hall.After lunch, visit a cloisonn谷 factory and observe the skilled artisans at work.A stop will be made (if traffic allows) for you to take pictures of the Beijing National Stadium, known as the Bird's Nest, which hosted the major events of the 2008 Summer Olympics.Tonight, buffet dinner at your hotel.

Fly to historic Xi'an this morning and check into your hotel.Tonight enjoy dinner and an entertaining show at the Tang Dynasty Theatre.

Day 6 Xi'an

Day 7 Xi'an/Chongqing
This morning, visit the exquisite Wild Goose Pagoda and Xi'an History Museum before flying to Chongqing. On arrival, tour the Stillwell museum to see its collection of World War II memorabilia, particularly the Flying Tigers - volunteer American pilots who aided the Chinese before Pearl harbor. It time permits, see the Giant Pandas at Chongqing Zoo. Embark on the Five-Star Victoria Cruise to begin your memorable Yangtze River Cruise.Your cabin shall have private balcony accommodations.

Day 8 Chongqing/Yangtze Cruise:Fengdu*
At Fengdu, a shore excursion shows the new resettlement town on the Yangtze's south bank, a farmer's home and a local market. Nightly dining has been reserved at the elegant top deck a la carte dining room.

Day 9 Yangtze Cruise:Qutang Gorge/Small Gorges Excursion/Wu Gorge/Xiling Gorge
Cruise through the first of the fabled Three Gorges:Qutang Gorge, hemmed by mossy cliffs. At Wushan, a cruiser excursion takes you up the DaningRiver to view the splendid Small Gorges. Continue by sampan to the picturesque mini-gorges of the Ma Du River with its clear, swift waters, unusual rock formations, and monkeys and goats along the banks. Alternatively, your excursion may be on Shennong Stream with its famed small gorges. Sail on through Wu Gorge, celebrated for its TwelvePeaks. Next, sail through Xiling Gorge, the most scenic of all gorges. Finally, sail through the Three Gorges ship locks.

Day 10 Yangtze Cruise:Xiling Gorge/San Dou Ping/Yichang to Shanghai*
This morning, stop at San Dou Ping for a shore excursion to see construction at the massive Three Gorges Dam, the worlds largest hydroelectric project. Cruise on to Yichang, where you disembark. Fly to Shanghai, the cosmopolitan business center of China, and check into your Five-Star accommodations.

Day 11 Shanghai
Visit Shanghai's highlights, including the ShanghaiMuseum, with an audio tour describing the special features of the museums permanent collections, Nanjing Road/Huai Hai Road shopping streets, the JadeBuddhaTemple, the city's colonial European past at The Bund, and a renowned Shanghai carpet factory.After dinner, enjoy an astonishing performance put on by the renowned Shanghai Acrobats.
