Arrive Chongqing, transfer to Holiday Inn or similar hotel, city sightseeing to the Stillwell Museum to see World War II memorabilia and attend a lecture on the Flying Tigers, American pilots who volunteered to aid the Chinese in World II against the Japanese invasion of China, before Pearl Harbor was attached. Also visit the Chongqing Zoo where you see the Giant Pandas, dinner in Chongqing.

After an early breakfast you are out the door to enjoy the humming city with your guide. See a flurry of Saigon sights today: The History Museum, Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the War Crimes Museum. Lunch in the food court of the cavernous Ben Thanh Market. No white table linen here, but the incredible array of toothsome Vietnamese street food is a gastronomic pleasure that few tourists ordinarily experience. After lunch, wander and shop for bargains (our helpful guide will assist in good-humored negotiations). Then, it’s off to Cho Lon, Ho Chi Minh City’s Chinatown, crammed with fascinating temples and mysterious, narrow lanes to explore. You are free tonight to dine with a new friend or step out onto one of Saigon’s jam-packed dance floors.
May 5/Monday Ho Chi Minh City B, L
After an early breakfast, embark with your guide and drive south through rice fields and tropical forest to My Tho in the lush Mekong River Delta. Visit the Vin Trang Pagoda along the way. Take a lazy three-hour boat trip on the river, past verdant vegetation and coconut plantations. Visit a honey farm, a former VC stronghold, and a coconut candy factory (yum!). Return to Saigon on the early evening. Your night is free.
May 6/Tuesday Ho Chi Minh City to Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) B, L, D
After breakfast in the hotel, your guide will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Angkor. Upon arrival, meet our guide and transfer to hotel. Siem Reap is the base for exploring the fabled temples of Angkor, the ancient capital of the Khmer empire. A tour of the temples includes the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the famous Bayon, Baphoun, the Terrace of Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King. In the afternoon visit the magnificent 12th century Angkor Wat. Return to hotel after watching the sun set at Phnom Bakheng. Overnight at Sofitel Royal Angkor Hotel in Siem Reap.
May 7/Wednesday Angkor Wat B, L, D
An early start to catch the sunrise (optional). Return to the hotel for breakfast, then continue to Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei, Chau Say Tevoda, Thommanon, and the fabulous Ta Prohm Temple, embraced by the roots of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers. In the afternoon continue to Pre Rup, East Mebon, Ta Som, Neak Poan and Preah Khan.

May 8/Thursday Siem Reap to Saigon B, L
After breakfast, transfer for a cruise on Tonle Sap, visit typical floating village. If the time permit, we will continue to visit workshop of Artisans d'Angkor to see wood and stone carving before transferring to Siem Reap Airport for onward departure flight to Saigon, transfer to Omni Hotel near the airport.
