Itinerary:
Day 1: USA - Bangkok
Our exciting Thailand vacation begins as we board our international flight bound for Bangkok .
Day 2: En-route
The day is spent aboard our jetliner as we cross the International Date Line.
Day 3: Arrive Bangkok
Touch down in Thailand 's capital and greet our tour guide in the arrivals hall. Transfer to the hotel and enjoy a traditional Thai Welcome Dinner and Classical Dance Show.

Day 4: Bangkok
The urban and cultural heart of the Kingdom, Bangkok has been Thailand 's capital since the 18th century. We begin our tour of this ˇ°City of Angels ˇ± with a trip to Damnern Saduak Floating Market, where residents paddle their long-tail boats, laden with fresh produce and snacks, through the myriad canals. After lunch, spend the afternoon free at leisure.

Day 5: Bangkok
Explore Bangkok 's rich heritage with a visit to the opulent Grand Palace , the former residence of the Royal family. Continue on to the Coronation Hall and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, one of Thailand 's most popular shrines. Admire the splendid Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho, the city's oldest temple, and complete our day with a stop at a local gems and silk factory.

Day 6: Bangkok
Spend the entire day exploring Bangkok on your own or take an optional excursion to the ancient city of Ayutthaya . Tour the dazzling remains of the monasteries and temples that showcase the past splendor of the dynasties. Then continue south of Ayutthaya to visit the exquisite Bang Pa In ( Summer Palace ).

Day 7: Bangkok-Chiang Rai
Spend the morning free until we board a flight to Chiang Rai, known as the ˇ°gateway to the Golden Triangle.ˇ± Upon arrival, visit one of Thailand 's most remarkable temples, Wat Rong Khun. Also known as the ˇ° White Temple ,ˇ± constructed by a local artist, Khun Chalermchai, who set out to revolutionize Buddhist art.

Day 8: Chiang Rai
Sightseeing today begins with a visit to Chiang Saen, a charming crossroads town of the Golden Triangle situated along the banks of the Mekong River . Scattered throughout this old Lanna capital are ruins of the Chiang Saen Kingdom . After lunch, head to Mai Sai , the northernmost point in Thailand and one of the official land crossings between Thailand and Myanmar . Return to our hotel in Chiang Rai and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, followed by shopping at a local night bazaar.

Day 9: Chiang-Rai to Chiang-Mai
For many, the highlight of a trip to northern Thailand is a visit to the Hill Tribes that inhabit the remote mountains. After stopping by the Long Neck Karen and Big Earrings Tribes, we depart to Chiang Mai via motorcoach. Nicknamed the ˇ°Rose of the North,ˇ± this 700-year old city boasts an eclectic blend of historic and unique cultures. Spend the afternoon free at leisure and regroup in the evening for a traditional Khantoke Lanna Dinner and Show.

Day 10: Chiang Mai
Head northwest of Chiang Mai to the historic Doi Suthep Temple , one of the north's most famous temples. Its prime location atop a small mountain allows us sweeping views of Chiang Mai. Continue on to visit a Thai Handicraft village, where we can find traditional handmade goods including hand-painted umbrellas, silk and hand-woven cotton. This evening, visit Chiang Mai's colorful night bazaar, brimming with dozens of shops and street vendors selling a myriad of goods.

Day 11: Chiang Mai
Elephants have always been highly treasured and respected in Thai culture. Today we visit an elephant camp and enjoy a light-hearted show put on by the elephants, followed by an unforgettable elephant safari through the jungle. An optional cruise along the Mae Ping River on a bamboo raft makes the perfect ending to a memorable day.

Day 12: Chiang Mai
Spend the entire day free to explore the city at your own pace or relax at the hotel

Day 13: Chiang Mai
Our ˇ°temple tourˇ± begins with a visit to the 700-year old Wat Chiang Man, the city's oldest temple, followed by a tour of Wat Pra Singh. At Wat Chedi Luang, we attend a lecture about the role of Buddhism in Thailand 's social, cultural, and political life.

Fly to Bangkok and spent the day free at leisure
