Day 1 USA to Beijing

Fly from your hometown to Beijing

 

Day 2 Arrive Beijing

Arrive Beijing , the capital of China . Upon arrival, our friendly guide will meet you and transfer you to Chang An Grand Hotel or Shangri-La Traders Hotel.

 

Day 3 Beijing

Full day tour includes the Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Summer Palace , and the Temple of Heaven . This evening, enjoy a Peking Opera or a Cultural Show.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

 

Day 4 Beijing

Morning tour to the exterior of the Bird Nest & the Water Cube for photography. Drive to the Great Wall Badaling and the Sacred Way to visit the Changling Exhibition of the Ming Tombs. If time permits, visit a Jade Carving Factory. Enjoy a cultural show tonight.

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch

 

Day 5 Beijing / Xi'Ning

Take morning flight to Xi'Ning. Upon arrival, our guide will meet you and transfer you to Qinghai Hotel or similar class hotel. Take an afternoon city tour to Kimblum (Taer) Monastery - the cradle of the Yellow Temple in Tibet .

Day 6 Xi'Ning/Express Train to Tibet

Morning tour to the Provincial Museum and the Residence of General Ma Bufang - a warlord in the 1940' s. Also visit the Great Mosque, with over 600 years of history. This evening, board the Express train for Lhasa and start our adventure in Tibet .

Overnight on train (soft sleepers).

Day 7 Arrive Lhasa

The Tibet Railway runs 1,956 kilometers from Xining to Lhasa and is the world's longest railroad built atop a plateau. Construction started on June 29th, 2001 and opened to traffic on July 1st, 2006. The Golmud-Lhasa section extends 1,142 kilometers, with the highest elevation being some 5,072 meters above sea level at Tanggula Range , making it the highest railway in the world. You will be called to get up early for the Early Morning Sun Raising on the train. It gives great breathtaking pictures just like traveling in the sky-space. The Sun is firing red in the sky, the sky beneath the sun is in Orange , and above the Sun is Deep Blue and Dark Color. Then the train runs to the heavenly high screen of legendary Kunlun Mountain and the Jade Peak at an altitude of 6178 meters, in a shape of pyramid. Kunlun Mountain is always snow-capped and it is a Chinese belief that this is the place of all the celestial kings. Train takes hours along the snow-caped peaks and iced field. Throughout the rest of the day, you will see: Kekexili �C ��paradise for wild animals��; Couna Lake �C the highest fresh water blue lake beneath the snow-caped mountains; Damshung �C ��Gate of Northern Tibet��. Arrive Lhasa in the evening; upon arrival, our guide will meet you and transfer you to Yaluzangbu Hotel or similar class hotel.

Day 8 Lhasa

Take a morning tour to Norbulinka - the Summer Palace for the Dalai Lhama. In the afternoon, visit the Potala Palace , a UNESCO World Heritage site. Enjoy a Tibetan Dance performance tonight.

Day 9 Lhasa

In the morning, visit the golden-roofed Jokhang Monastery -- Tibet 's holiest shrine. It commemorates the marriage of Tang princess Wencheng to King Songtsen Gampo 1,300 years ago, and houses a pure gold statue of the Buddha Sakyamuni brought to Tibet by the princess. Stroll and shop along the Bakhor street , a Tibetan Bazaar and pilgrim circuit area. In the afternoon, take a tour of the Sera Monastery-the only place where you are allowed to see the monk's kitchen, and the spectacular scripture debating. If time permits, visit a Tibetan Hospital or a Local School .

Day 10 Lhasa / Chengdu

Transfer to Gongar Airport and fly to Chengdu . Take an afternoon tour to Dujiangyan - Ancient Flood Control and Irrigation System. Check into Tibet Chengdu Hotel or similar class hotel.

Day 11 Chengdu

Today's highlyght is the visit to Giant Panda Breeding Center where you'll see these lovely creatures up close and learn its habitat and evolution. Also visit the mysterious Sanxingdui Museum - a great discovery for the whole nation after terra-cotta warriors in the 20 years. The huge number of excavated bronze ware brings the world a puzzle of the Chinese history. It is another UNESCO world heritage site. If time permits, visit Local Tea House, Pavilion of River View.

Day 12 Chengdu / Shanghai

Take a morning flight to Shanghai , the bustling cosmopolitan center of business and commerce in China . Check into Galaxy Hotel or similar class hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to explore the city on your own.

Day 13 Shanghai

Today's sightseeing includes the Bund, the 16th century old Yu Garden and Shanghai Museum , with its remarkable collections of national treasures - ancient stone carved statues, bronze, ceramics, paintings, and calligraphy. In the evening, enjoy the Shanghai Acrobatic Show - a truly unforgettable experience.

Day 14 Shanghai

Today's highlight is a visit to the Shanghai World EXPO. It covers a large area of over 5.6 Square KM with 27 master halls. The theme is to show all new creational hopes, concepts, designs, technologies, and present to the world a full potential of urban life in the 21st century as a significant one for urban evolution with New Approaches of Human Habitat, Beautiful Lifestyle. If Shanghai EXPO is not available, visit the ancient water-town of Zhujiajiao & Jade Buddha Temple .

Day 15 Depart Shanghai

Transfer to airport for your homeward flight or your next destination.
