off to tour Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City,
including the jewelry section. Then tour the exquisite Summer Palace with
its ornate architecture and enjoy a boat ride on Lake Kunming (weather
permitting). Tonight, you are invited to a delicious Peking Duck dinner
party.

Today,
walk on the ancient ramparts of the astonishing Great Wall. Then visit a
cloisonné factory and see artisans at work. Later, stroll along the Sacred
Way, guarded by statues, to the Ming Tombs and Chang Ling Exhibition Hall.

After your
free morning fly to Chongqing. Visit the Stilwell Museum and view World War
II memorabilia before boarding your cruise ship to begin your memorable

Yangtze River Cruise: Shibaozhai* |
|
Known as
the “Pearl of the Yangtze,” visit the magnificent 12-story wooden pagoda at
scenic Shibaozhai today.

Day 9 •
Yangtze River Cruise: Qutang Gorge/Wu Gorge/Daning River Small Gorges or
Shennong Stream/Xiling Gorge |
|
Cruise
through the first of the fabled Three Gorges: Qutang Gorge hemmed by
towering cliffs and sail on through Wu Gorge, known for its lofty Twelve
Peaks. At Wushan, cruise up the Daning River via cruiser to view the famous
Small Gorges. Continue by sampan to the picturesque mini-gorges of the Ma Du
River with its clear, swift running water, unusual rock formations, and
monkeys and goats along the banks. Alternatively, your excursion may be on
Shennong Stream with its dramatic gorges. Pass through the last and most
scenic of the major gorges, Xiling Gorge and then through the Three Gorges
ship lock.

Day 10 •
Yangtze River Cruise: Xiling Gorge/San Dou Ping/Yichang to Shanghai*
|
|
At San Dou
Ping, see the amazing Three Gorges Dam, the world's largest hydroelectric
project. Continue on to Yichang where you board your flight to Shanghai,
China's center of commerce.

Enjoy

astonishing acrobatic show.

morning is at leisure. Fly to Guilin. Sightseeing includes Reed Flute Cave
